OMG What a perfect day on the water!
The early start was well worth it as we were treated to an unbelievably realistic re-enectment of ANZAC Cove on the Tweed River
In darkness we could see the boats coming ashore with water exploding all around them and gunfire, bombs and the sound effects to go with it. The crowd was silent as we watched the proceedings and were given a birds eye view of the horror of those days. I think I’ll have a few bad dreams following that one but it was a once in a lifetime experience to learn about all this history.
As the sun rose the service began which was just how I like it – short and sweet. Given the pin still bright sunny conditions I just wanted to hit the water. We had looked at it long enough!
